Urgent Message to our Pageant Family!

February 8, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Recently it has been brought to our attention by several of last years teen contestants that they have been solicited by a for-profit pageant system to participate in their program. This money making organization has been reaching out to our pageant base. There has been some confusion in that many think it is part of our own Outstanding Teen Program. It is not. We want you to be aware that this organization has no ties, affiliations or involvement with our Outstanding Teen Program or the Miss Connecticut Scholarship Program, Inc.

The Miss Connecticut Scholarship Pageant, Inc.. is a franchise of the Miss America Organization the largest provider of scholarships to women in the United States. Our pageant organization is a 501(c)3 charitable organization granted by an IRS ruling and its fundraising and programs are run to award scholarships to the young women of Connecticut and not as a for-profit program.

Please make sure that you talk with your contestants and make them aware of the differences between the two programs.

With that in mind, we would like to remind you of the upcoming following Fundraising Events to help fund our scholarship foundation.

Miss Connecticut Send-off

January 7, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The Woodbridge Country Club was packed with fans of Miss Connecticut Dana Daunis on Sunday. Her wardrobe was fantastic, as was her Miss America talent, which brought tears to the eyes of audience members. Kudos to Tracy Forbes and the Fairfield team for a top-notch event! The entertainment by Miss New Haven County Ashley Abate and teen contestant Alyssa Taglia were great too. Dana received kudos from Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, and praise was heaped on Miss Connecticut wardrobe sponsor Natalie Testa, Nanette Bosch from Bangle & Clutch, Maria Neves of The Crowning Touch and Mike Massaro from The Clothes Clinic. Kelly Hughson Tindall, a former state runner-up, was in the audience. Kelly and her husband gave money toward Dana’s wardrobe and Kelly had a few words to share. Kelly said that getting involved in the system again brought back “so many memories. I got so much out of it.” Her advice to young women is to stay involved in the Miss CT program because of the friendships and and skills you gain.

Holiday Jubilee Jingle

December 18, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Greetings to one and all!We certainly decked the halls on Saturday night! With the Donald Oat Theater adorned in red and green, a warm and appreciative crowd sat back and admired the talent of Miss Connecticut Dana Elaine Daunis. From standards to country to Broadway, Dana unwittingly provided a musical gift of the highest order.Dressed in a lovely red gown, she graced the stage with her charming repartee and melodious voice. A highpoint was when she honored her father, Rick, with her own rendition of two Beatles tunes, and made her Mom, Lisa, very proud with her Mom’s favorite Christmas song, “I’ll be Home for Christmas.”Dana wowed the crowd with her last number, “Name,” which she will sing at Miss America and will perform for us at her send-off on Jan. 6 at the Woodbridge Country Club. We hope to see the pageant family on Jan. 6, another don’t miss event!
